We made lots of new friends at AOPA’s 2017 Fly-In in Norman, OK September 8-9. It was our first event and a fantastic turnout. My wife, Cathleen, was a tremendous help. She loved talking with the hundreds of visitors to our exhibit waiting to ask me questions. We both nearly lost our voice after talking almost non-stop for two days.
I set up two computers to demonstrate the Equip ADS-B Marketplace platform’s features.
My iMac was set up to show aircraft owners how easy it is to register an aircraft and generate a Request for an ADS-B Installation Quote (RFQ). They liked the idea of just completing one RFQ to be used by all of the avionics shops. “Brilliant,” said one fleet operator who has to equip more than ten aircraft with ADS-B Out.
On my HP laptop, they saw their RFQ displayed on the Avionics Shop’s dashboard. I showed how a shop would look at their aircraft avionics profile, instrument panel pictures, and buying preferences to generate and submit a bid.
Next, I showed them how easy it was to use the platform to search and find avionics shops to request a quote or use the Resource page to look up and link to FAA information.
The owners & pilots were appreciative and thanked me for providing this service; several were astonished we they learned that we offer this service for FREE! But, they ‘got it’ when I explained we are supported by advertisements.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
